Two teams represented Westgate in the district Battle of the Books on Friday, May 20 at Brier Elementary. They competed against 39 teams from other schools by answering questions about the twenty books on the Best Books list. Reading Hippo Warriors with Jamie, Cameron, Logan, and Carter tied for fifth and were in the top ten. Maya, Camryn, Dakota, and Krista were the Short Stuff team and Cassidy was the alternate. If you are interested in going to the Battle of the Books next spring, start reading the books on the 2017 Best Books list now.
